About the Author
Kazim Ali is a writer, translator, and editor who has published over twenty books of poetry, essay, fiction, and cross-genre work. His most recent books are Northern Light: Power, Land, and the Memory of Water, The Voice of Sheila Chandra, and SILVER ROAD: MAPS, ESSAYS AND CALLIGRAPHIES (Tupelo Press, 2018) as well as a translation of Ananda Devi's When the Night Agrees to Speak to Me, and the editor with Rohan Chhetri of SHREELA RAY: ON THE LIFE AND WORK OF AN AMERICAN MASTER (Unsung Masters Series, 2021). He is currently a Professor of Comparative Literature and Creative Writing at the University of California, San Diego.
