About the Author

David R. Crook was born in Fulton, New York, located upstate between Syracuse and Oswego. Lake Erie dumps an average of 109 inches of lake-effect snow on Fulton each year, a factor that led him to move to the desert in Arizona.

Before moving, David called the greater Buffalo area home for 19 years. During that time he worked at various customer service jobs in fields such as satellite TV, cellular phones, and in the customer service department for the second largest transportation authority in NY. While employed at the bus company, he began writing.

Writing was a very personal escape mechanism, one where he could examine not only his life but also investigate the darker part of his psyche. If it weren't for the pleading of a close friend, he would have not shared his short stories. His friend purchased a copy of Stephen King's On Writing for him and he began completing the writing prompts in it.

David enjoyed writing short stories and continued to do so for a year. After a brief hiatus from writing, he decided it was time to attempt a novel. He had no plans of publishing it; rather it was more of an exercise in character development and holding a story line. His first attempt was far from successful. Regardless of his failure, he reorganized his thoughts, conducted research, and took time to fully develop the wax and wane of the story. The end result culminated in Dead Run. There have been many proud moments in his life, but seeing his book on Amazon on July 31st, 2020, was one of the best.

David moved to Arizona in 2013. He worked in a variety of jobs before landing his dream job with BlueStar Resort and Golf as an IT Systems and Support Specialist, then moving into his current position as the Information Systems Manager. He is working on a new project called Logical Abstract, which takes place in 2053 in Arizona after the world recovers from the second wave of Coronavirus.
