This workbook encourages students to improve specific executive functioning, communication & self-advocacy skills through situational examples that are necessary for students to have a successful college experience. The reflection questions and activities are designed to help identify skills and strengths students are using right now and think about how they can be improved and applied in college. We know that most students don't know what to expect when they go off to college and that's ok - that's the entire point of this workbook!
With the average student spending about 15 per week in the classroom, the majority of being at college takes place outside of academic buildings. We have intentionally designed activities that cover important skills areas for student life in every aspect of the college experience including practicing difficult conversations with a roommate, managing time and priorities, knowing when and how to ask for help, how to communicate with professional staff and much more!
Each skill area is practiced and introduced in multiple worksheets. The repetition is intentional to address the unique learning styles of students.
