Synopsis
This book is for advanced middle school and high school students preparing for mathematics competitions. It presents admission tests and complete, explained solutions from the AwesomeMath Summer Program, a program designed to help students learn math problem solving. The tests cover four traditional areas of competition math: algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics. While some of the problems involve complex mathematical ideas, all can be solved using only elementary techniques, sometimes combined in unique ways. There is special emphasis on the skills of proof writing. The book also gives a short bio of the program’s creator and director, Titu Andreescu. B&w graphics are included.
