But when a deadly virus sweeps through the world and takes away everything she had ever known, including her home and her family, Opal realizes she might not have much of a choice to stay in the background anymore. Opal teams up with another group of teenagers as they embark on a long journey to rescue their families, but just as she begins to feel comfortable in this new world, she is kidnapped by unknown forces. Even as a prisoner, Opal finds allies and aided by her new friends and her mysterious nightmares, she begins to unravel the conspiracy around the global pandemic.
