Synopsis
Clifford Porter's mother and sister are killed in a car crash on a rainy day in Vancouver. After the accident, Cliff's father struggles trying to cope with the tragedy and overwhelmingly grief. Unfortunately, his dad breaks down and is hospitalized. Clifford is sent to spend the summer on Mayne Island with his estranged grandfather. The absolute last thing Cliff wants to do is leave his neighborhood, familiar home surroundings, and move to a small island in the middle of the Salish Sea.
Dr. Randal Reilly, an aging psychotherapist, who always seems to have more patients than he prefers, attempts to help Clifford and his family maneuver through the turmoil trying to recover from the problems they face.
