Synopsis

Stop Letting the Clock and Test Anxiety Win

If you are applying to an independent school for the first time, the ISEE can feel overwhelming. Maybe you know the material inside and out when practicing at home, but your scores drop the second the timer starts. Maybe those quantitative comparisons leave you guessing, or the vocabulary words look like they are written in a foreign language. Big Prep companies want to sell you expensive, corporate study packages. We believe in a different approach-folksy, honest guidance built right here at my kitchen table in the Pacific Northwest.

What You Will Find Inside

• Battle-tested strategies to stop running out of time and avoid careless mistakes caused by reading too quickly.

• Clear, plain-English fixes for the confusing quantitative comparison section so you spot the traps.

• Practical vocabulary tips to handle words you have never seen before.

• Step-by-step breakdowns for fractions, decimals, percents, and tough word problems.

• Real essay examples and editing tips to write concisely and avoid common pitfalls.

• Calm, down-to-earth advice on managing test anxiety so your score matches your actual knowledge.

Since 2005, I have been writing study guides for the forgotten student-the folks who just need a fair shot without breaking the bank. When you buy this book, you are not feeding a massive corporate machine. You are supporting an independent publisher who triple-checks every question and proudly shares a portion of proceeds with educational charities.

Take a deep breath, grab a pencil, and let us get you ready for test day.
