Laugh a Little More with P.G. Wodehouse's Indiscretions of Archie

Here is another one of P.G. Wodehouse's gems that you simply have to read to see why it has people laughing even many decades after it was written. Indiscretions of Archie is a novel you won't be able to put down, providing the same brilliant, witty British humor you'd find in Wodehouse's Jeeves novels or his many other works filled with humorous plot twists and incredible coincidences.

The book tells of Archie, a fumbling British gentleman trying to find his luck in the Big Apple. As he checks into Hotel Cosmopolis in New York, however, he can't even begin to realize the silly, chaotic happenings that are in store for him. Nor does he realize at first that the girl he falls for is none other than the daughter of the millionaire who happens to own the hotel - and who, of course, can't stand him.

The story also introduces Lucille - one of Wodehouse's most prolific female characters. Her and Archie basically stand against the stern father-in-law trying to win him over, but only managing to get Archie deeper and deeper into trouble.

If you've read and enjoyed any of the other novels written by the famous author, this is surely one you shouldn't miss. Aside from his ingenious coincidental action humor - such as Archie finding himself locked out of the apartment he shared with his artist friend, wearing only a scarlet robe - you will also be able to enjoy Wodehouse's stunning description of the New York nightlife around the 1920s, his witty writing style you won't be able to resist, and his intricate games as he constantly invents new ways to play with the plot, the words and the characters - all for your entertainment.

Indiscretions of Archie is quite possibly one of the most colorful and engaging British comedy works in Wodehouse's era, and it will certainly keep you laughing throughout the read.
