Juliet Gardiner is an historian and broadcaster and has taught at the University of London and Middlesex University. A former editor of History Today magazine, she is also the author of The Thirties: An Intimate History of Britain, The Blitz: The British Under Attack, Wartime: Britain 1939-1945, "Over Here": Gls in Britain, 1942-5, The Children's War and The Animals' War. She was historical consultant for Channel Four's series The 1940s House and wrote the accompanying bestselling book.
