Bernard Whimpress is an historian and curator of the Adelaide Oval Museum. He has published and edited the Australian cricket journal Baggy Green since 1998. He co-wrote Great Ashes Battles and has written the updates for Chris Harte's seminal History of Australian Cricket. He is a member of the Australian Society for Sports History. The MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) are the guardians of English cricket. The MCC Cricket Museum, situated behind the ground's famous Pavilion, is home to thousands of cricketing artifacts, many of which have been photographed for this book.
