This book was a joy to write because it discusses my experience with lung cancer 38 years ago when contemporary medicine gave me 6 months to live and I beat the odds of lung cancer and also the odds of 3 chronic illnesses and 5 prescribed medications (average for a 75 year old). And I used all natural holistic interventions so there were no side effects. Now at age 80 I am in excellent health and lead an active life, I want the same for others and realize it is so easy for those who are willing to live a healthy holistic lifestyle involving physical, mental, spiritual, relationships. environmental, and political components. Most of my other books have been textbooks for nursing and health students but this book and my last one are for the general public.
About the Author
Dr Carl O. Helvie, R.N. received a B.S. (NYU), M.S. (U of California), M.P.H. and Dr.P.H. (Johns Hopkins U). Advanced degrees are in public health and wellness. He has 60 years experience as a nursing practitioner, educator, author and researcher and received national recognitions including the Distinguished Career Award from the American Public Health Association and listings in most reference books and on Wikipedia.. He is author of 7 previous books, contributor to 3 others, and presented research papers around the United States and Europe. He currently hosts the Holistic Health Show on BBS Radio.
