"Ssshh, Will! It's too loud."
Everyone's always telling Will to stop humming, singing and making so much noise. That is, until he meets music teacher Mr Brand. Will's not noisy, Mr Brand explains, he has a gift - a remarkable ear for music - and he absolutely must learn to play the violin.
But Will can never find peace to practise at home, and the only space at school is in a broom cupboard. Then there's the small matter of his stage fright ...
Can Will overcome all these obstacles and fulfil his dream of going to music school?
