Jenny Hendy is first and foremost a garden lover with a passion for enthusing others. She is the author of many gardening books on a wide range of subjects from topiary to container gardening and garden construction, though planning and design have always been her specialty. Jenny's fascination for plants and wildlife brought her into contact with gardening at a very early age. Eventually this interest led to her gaining an Honours degree in Classical Botany. She worked as a researcher and writer for one of Britain's leading gardening magazines and since turning freelance has established a career as an internationally published author, lecturer and radio broadcaster. In addition to writing and presenting, Jenny runs a thriving garden design consultancy. She also works with nursery and primary school children helping to run workshops and after-school clubs with practical and creative gardening and nature projects. Her other titles include A Practical Guide to Topiary (Aquamarine); The Complete Practical Guide to Patio, Terrace, Backyard & Courtyard Gardening, and Garden Wisdom (both Lorenz Books); and Creative Ideas for Garden Decoration, Creative Ideas for Garden Structure, Creative Ideas for Lawns, Patios, Decks & Paths, and Creative Ideas for Walls, Fences, Hedges and Boundaries (all Southwater).
