About the Author

Lisa Olson is a felt-maker and designer. She runs workshops and courses all over the UK, and sells felted gifts and kits via her website Tigerlily Makes. Her fresh, contemporary style is extremely appealing and her products have been featured in various magazines, including Simply Home Made, Create & Craft Club magazine, Insight magazine, Guardian Weekend, Craft Focus and Crafts Beautiful (in which she had a 2-page editorial feature). Lisa is also a guest presenter on Create & Craft.

Wool felt is a textural fiber medium that can be manipulated into flat or three-dimensional shapes. Olsonfocuses here on wet felting, which transforms raw wool fleece into cloth using water, soap, and agitation.As it becomes cloth, it can be handled to form flat pieces that will be recognizable as felt fabric, or intoother shapes that can be used as embellishments. A short section also describes needle (also known as dry)felting, which uses barbed needles to tangle the fibers of several pieces of wool fleece, combining theminto one solid piece of felt. Included are 12 projects inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the feel of thatfantasy world.
