Synopsis

Christopher Norton's Microjazz Collection 5 is a piano solo sheet music collection that brings contemporary popular styles together with the classical values that define the acclaimed Microjazz series. Featuring 14 progressive easy pieces for solo piano drawing on jazz, blues, rock 'n' roll, reggae, samba, and related rhythmic influences, it offers pianists and piano teachers varied repertoire for learning, practice, and performance.

The collection contains piano notation for each solo piece along with helpful teaching notes. Online audio resources add a practical musical dimension, providing both full performance tracks and backing tracks. Players can hear the music in context, work with the accompanying tracks during practice, and bring additional variety to preparation and performance.

Christopher Norton's distinctive combination of contemporary genres and classical values gives the collection a broad musical character. Contrasting moods, rhythmic ideas, and popular-style influences encourage musical expression while keeping practice varied and engaging. As part of the seven-level Microjazz series, Collection 5 also provides teachers with progressive easy repertoire that can complement structured piano learning without losing the energy and personality of jazz-influenced music.
