The Great Wizard Wars is a humorous and exciting tale of wars between good and evil armies of wizards and witches, which is ideal for fans of fantasy stories aged 7-10 years. The good wizards and witches are leading modern, extraordinary lives, going about their day-to-day business in a peaceful manner, hidden from the rest of the world. Then along comes an evil old wizard who breaks an ancient truce. He builds a bumbling, backward and outrageously dim-witted Dark Army ... intent on causing mayhem.
Four young wizards and witches plus a loveable little dragon and a very hungry, zany snake are drawn into perilous situations followed by an unexpected showdown with the not-so-good wizards and witches.Ferocious dragons, unpredictable zilants and mythical creatures will capture children's imaginations. Roald Dahl fans of gross humour will be amused by the outlandish behaviour and foul habits of the evil rabble.

5 star reviews for this book are listed on Amazon.co.ukThe Great Wizard Wars was published in the UKI hope children will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.Although it is a fantasy, the book has fauna, flora and interesting places briefly mentioned to stimulate curiosity about the real world as well. In my years of teaching, I noticed children were equally drawn to fact as well as fiction. I would choose reading books to compliment and enhance a factual subject. e.g. A lesson in Roman History would be followed by a literature lesson featuring a humorous poem such as Roman Wall Blues. The Great Wizard Wars was also written for parents and grandparents to enjoy."Make it a rule never to give a child a book you would not read yourself" G B Shaw

The Great Wizard Wars is an exciting tale of the wars between good and evil armies of wizards and witches, which is ideal for fans of fantasy stories aged 7-11 years. Modern wizards and witches are leading extraordinary lives, going about their day-to-day business in a peaceful manner, hidden from the rest of the world. Breaking the ancient truce that was reached after the first war, a Dark Army rises once again, intent on destroying these descendants of its old foe. The backward, outrageous, evil wizards and witches launch their attack with outmoded weapons and mystical creatures that they cannot control while they fight amongst themselves for power in a frankly mind-boggling manner. As good and evil forces clash once again, four young wizards and witches find themselves in perilous situations. In a twist of fate they are forced into an unexpected showdown. Written in a style reflective of Roald Dahl, Christina Clarry's writing is brimming with gross humour, from the revolting smell of the characters to their foul and wacky habits.
