If you are looking for a guide to master the Wicca Moon Magic and be able to practice as an experienced Wiccan, then keep reading...
Why, almost nothing at all, in some cases.
Some Wiccans do not practice magic in any form or matter and to them, they enjoy the principles of the religion. Ask them what magic means to them and their answer would probably be “nothing.” But that does not mean that magic is only restricted to a few people. There are many (and I mean many) Wiccans who do use magic when they are practicing rituals or arts. This has led to the formation of many books on Wiccan magic and understanding them better.
The term magic itself has so many varied uses. There is Elemental magic, Chaos magic, Alchemy, High magic, and the most popular one in pop culture, Dark magic. However, we are only going to concern ourselves with just one type - Ceremonial magic. The form of magic known as “Ceremonial magic” is older than Wicca, but it laid down a few ideas that led to the formation of Wicca. While Ceremonial magic is a practice in its own right, much of the “practical magic” performed by Wiccans is a form of Ceremonial magic.
But that is where the relationship ends. There is no direct link between Ceremonial magic and religion.
The fact is that certain ideas are similar, just like the ideas shared by many monotheistic religions of the world and their idea that there is only one God. Being a Wiccan means taking a personal journey. It does not matter if you are a part of a coven or if you are practicing being a Wiccan all by yourself, you are going on a journey of self-discovery. You learn to attract more positivity into your life. You set the stage for gaining spiritual equilibrium, where you know that there are always challenges in life, but you are now prepared to face them with a sense of peace and calm.
Everything you learn in Wicca is about you. All the spells and rituals are just tools and techniques to find out more about yourself. This book
…And much more! While Wicca and magic are not meant for everyone, many people feel drawn to these practices, this is essentially the preliminary step to building these skills. If you feel that you need to explore these ideas, then it’s recommended that you at the very least research it. Who knows how many people feel drawn to these philosophies but push them aside in favor of science or materialism. This can be disheartening as popular culture is successful in convincing the masses that spirits aren’t real, and that there is no other intelligence inherent in nature.
I hope to give you a better understanding of what it means to be a Witch vs. Wiccan. I don’t believe that this comparison should be made to prove one superior over the other., there is no “right” and “wrong” when it comes to choosing a tradition or path that best resonates with your spiritual life’s purpose.
