About the Author
Sheilagh Noble is an illustrator and designer of children’s books, as well as a film animator for children’s educational films and television commercials.

Ages 1-3. With a few well-chosen words, this simple picture book evokes the pleasure of a trip to the park. A mother and daughter walk along together, spying a kite and flowers before meeting the little girl's friend and his father. The girl and boy then encounter a duck and ducklings and a big dog that sends the little boy to his father for some reassurance. "Up," he says, until he sees that the dog is friendly and wants down again. The children have a turn on the swings before it's time to say goodbye. Each page features a very simple word or two--among them, walk , hi , dog, push me, and, of course, more. The sturdy pages and the uncluttered illustrations, set against expanses of white background, have great child appeal. Though there's not much in the way of ambiance or surprise to bear repeated readings, this is a sweet story that will give the very young a sense of how words and activities relate.
