About the Author

John Agard is one of today's best-loved poets. He writes prolifically for both adults and children, poetry collections such as We Animals Would Like A Word With You. John regularly performs his poetry and was Poet in Residence at the BBC in 1998. Born in Guyana, he now lives with his partner, Grace Nichols, and their young daughter in Lewes. Lydia Monks is an exciting new illustrator. Her first book for Orchard was Who's Next, by Sally Grindley. Lydia lives in London. This winning author/illustrator team also did the poetry book Come Back to me my Boomerang for Orchard.
