Synopsis

Blackstone's Statute Books have been designed specifically with the law student in mind. Each book has been compiled to meet the needs of specific courses, on the basis of extensive research of what those courses cover. By selecting only the essential materials, we have been able to restrict both the size and the price of the books and by excluding commentary, we have made the books ideal for use in examinations. This second edition has been updated and expanded to include the Protocol on the Establishment of an African Court on Human and People's Rights, the Arab Charter on Human Rights and the CIS Convention on Human Rights. Various additional European instruments such as the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages, the European Convention on the Exercise of Children's Rights and the Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine have been inserted. Other regional instruments added include the Inter-American Convention on the Prevention, Punishment and Eradication of Violence Against Women, the OAU Convention Governing the Specific Aspects of Refugee Problems in Africa and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child. The U.N. Documents have been expanded to include the 1951 Refugee Convention, the 1967 Protocol to it and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
