Synopsis
Join the wonderfully weird Otherhand family and their faithful guardian, Edgar the raven, and discover the dark secrets of Castle Otherhand.
In the sixth of the Raven Mysteries, all manner of disaster descends on Castle Otherhand; weirdness abounds, the family are on the verge of being thrown out of their own home, and there's still no sign of the fabled treasure of the Otherhand. Worse still, there's no sign of Edgar, either. So will it be diamonds or doom for the Otherhands?

About the Author
Marcus Sedgwick is a full time author. His first novel,Floodland, won the Branford Boase Award for the best debut children's novel of 2000. Since then his books have been shortlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize, the Blue Peter Book Award, the Costa Book Award, the Carnegie Medal and the Edgar Allan Poe Award. He lives near Cambridge.

This book is ideal for all young readers, even the reluctant ones, or those fairly new to reading alone: the words are well spaced, and the joyous absurdity forces you to turn the page. The wonderful illustrations by Pete Williamson not only make the meaning of the words clear but enhance them, encouraging the reader to pause and enjoy their delightful dottiness... If you don't yet know Edgar, Solstice and the others, it's time you got reading. THE BOOKBAG If you ever just want to read something wacky and laugh-out-loud funny, please, please pick up the Raven Mysteries series. It starts with Flood and Fang, spans six books and is my all-time favourite series for younger readers. I can give it no higher praise than that, but I think that's probably acceptable. As Edgar, and now young Rob, would say: Futhork! WONDROUS READS
