About the Author:

Following an early fascination with water life, James Allison built his first pond at the age of 14 and soon developed an avid interest in water plants, goldfish, and koi. This led to studies in biology at Durham University and in aquatic biology at London University. He now works as manager of the pond section of one of the UK’s leading aquatic specialist firms. He has lectured on water gardening and fishkeeping and is a regular contributor to the acquatic press.
