Synopsis

This diet book celebrates food for what it is rather than continuous calorie counting. It chronicles Ruth Watson's experiences of dieting, shares her secrets and contains recipes as well as advice and suggestions for "foody" dieters living in the real world. Her diet is based on calorie-counted recipes but is balanced and non-faddy, with all food groups allowed, indeed encouraged.

About the Author

Having first run the award-winning Hintlesham Hall Hotel and then one of the first 'gastropubs' the Fox and Goose Inn at Fressingfield, in 1994 Ruth was asked by Delia Smith to be a contributing food editor to Sainsbury's Magazine. She then went on to win the Glenfiddich Magazine Cookery Writer of the Year award twice. Her first book, The Really Helpful Cookbook was an instant bestseller. Ruth writes regularly for BBC Good Food magazine, and has appeared in Jamie Oliver's Channel 4 series, Jamies Kitchen and the BBC 2 series, Diet Junkies. Ruth now runs the Crown and Castle at Oxford in Suffolk and will be on television again in 2005 with her own series on Channel 5 on how to run a successful hotel.
