About the Author

Mitchel Scanlon is a hot new talent residing in the sheep infested valleys of Derbyshire. His first break was with the Black Library's Warhammer Monthly comic and the character Hellbrandt Grimm. He is currently the writer of not only Hellbrandt Grimm but also Liliana Falcone and Of Ancient Blood, both for Warhammer Monthly, and has had several short stories published in the Black Library's short fiction magazine Inferno!.

Adult/High School-From the Warhammer gaming world comes this black-and-white collection of short stories. The tales, set in a Dungeons and Dragonsesque world of swords and sorcery, revolve around the legendary mercenary Hellbrandt Grimm. With his all-too-evocative name, requisite scar, as well as the physique and emotional range of Conan the Barbarian, the protagonist is as cardboard a character as they come. Each tale involves some kind of betrayal, plenty of carnage, and a contrived "twist" ending. The art, ranging from barely discernible to genuinely interesting, isn't enough to broaden the appeal; this one's for gamers only.
