About the Author

Robert Johns has over twenty five years' experience of statutory social work across the full range: youth justice, mental health, disability, vulnerable adults and as a children's guardian. A deep commitment to social justice and unease about social workers' legal knowledge led him to teaching and researching in this area. He has taught applied social work law in higher education since 1986 on both professional qualifying and post-qualifying courses.

Review

"A deservedly popular text that students find engaging and accessible. Rapidly becoming an indispensible addition to the social work literature." ( Lecturer, University of Bradford.)
