Reflective practice is a key element of learning and development social work courses. This book explores a range of approaches to reflective practice and will be useful while you are studying and when you subsequently move into practice learning. Through case studies and activities, the book will help you to develop an understanding of the concept of the reflective practitioner, and to learn how you can take a perspective on your own actions and experiences, thus shaping your future practice. Written in three parts, the book starts with a broad exploration of reflective practice, drawing on some of the key texts that have informed its development and some of the processes that can be adopted. It then considers aspects of the development of a reflective practitioner from a range of standpoints. Finally, the management of social work practice and inter-professional leadership are explored in the context of reflective practice.

Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Reflective practice is a key learning and development process on social work courses. This book looks at the concept of reflection and reflective social work practice from a more critical stance than previous texts and in accessible ways involving case material and practical tasks. Divided into two parts, the main section of the book will examine some of the more difficult and radical applications of the concept - for example emotionally intelligent workers, dangerousness, men in social work and inter-professional leadership. The final section will explore how a reflective approach to practice can be maintained and enhanced in the workplace. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition.
