Synopsis
Maintaining the high standards established over its thirty-three-year publishing history, this new volume of the highly regarded annual Warship includes articles on the U.S. Navy's Lexington-class battle cruiser design; the grounding and destruction of HMS Effingham in 1940; the origins of the world's first armored cruiser, Dupuy-de-Lome; the battle for Casablanca in 1942; and the impact of the capsizing of the Japanese Navy s torpedo boat Tomorzuru on subsequent design and construction. Also presented is the second in a series of articles on modern warships by Conrad Waters that looks at the French BPSs of the Mistral class and the new HLD being built for the Spanish navy. In addition to the articles, there are more than a hundred illustrations and reviews of new books.

About the Author
John Jordan is an expert on many aspects of naval history, in particular the French and Russian navies. His authorship is renowned for its detail and clarity, and he has written or contributed to many books, articles, journals and papers, including past volumes of Warship. He is ably assisted as Editor by Stephen Dent, also an experienced scholar in this field, and editor of Conway's The War At Sea in Photographs, 1939-1945.
