Synopsis

These images capture the entirety of the devastating conflict, tracing its movements from Germany's 1914 goals to the final positions of the troops. All the maps are drawn from the National Archives at Kew in London.
About the Author
Simon Forty was educated at Sedbergh School and London University's School of Slavonic and East European Studies. He has been involved in publishing for over three decades, specializing in military history and contributing to numerous books. He was also general editor of World War I: A Visual Encyclopedia (PRC Publishing). Simon lives in Devon with his wife and two children.
