About the Author

Chris Inns has worked in children's book design for the last 12 years, at Octopus, Hamlyn and Penguin. Chris is married, and has a five year-old son who likes to cure his toys with his toy medical kit, and a one year-old daughter. Christopher's previous title for Frances Lincoln was Next! - the first book about Doctor Hopper and Nurse Rex Barker.

From School Library Journal

PreSchool-Grade 2–Doctor Hopper, a blue rabbit, and Nurse Rex Barker, a gold-and-brown dog, are back to help their stuffed-animal patients. This time they leave the toy hospital to respond to emergency calls. They untangle the legs of a giraffe, deliver Pyjama-Case Pig's babies, and replace Mr. Atomic's battery. The bright, cartoon illustrations are similar to those in Inns's Next! Please (Tricycle, 2001), which introduced the characters. However, unlike that book, in which the female doctor and male nurse work as a team, this time a bumbling Doctor Hopper has to be set to rights several times by Nurse Barker. In fact, the story ends with three Cheeky Monkeys encasing Doctor Hopper in cast and bandages while Rex oversees their work. Children who enjoyed the first title will welcome this sequel, but libraries acquiring only one of Inns's books should definitely choose the original.–Kathy Piehl, Minnesota State University, Mankato
