STAN POTTINGER is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He practiced law in California and served as director of the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, and as assistant attorney general of the Civil Rights Division, Department of Justice, in Washington, D.C.
