The simple conversational text and lively illustrations are carefully designed to encourage further dialogue between reader and child. Using sign language can help to develop communication skills and is also lots of fun. Expand signing vocabulary with these book and card sets.

PreS—Each book addresses an issue relevant to preschoolers' lives. Children in the illustrations are shown engaging in new experiences, always smiling, while surrounded by loving adults and friends. The pleasant cartoon art features uncluttered, brightly colored scenes. The texts, structured as strings of dialogue that are never assigned to a speaker, rely heavily on the artwork to carry the stories, e.g., "Next on the slide? Let's make sandcastles!" (Nursery) is paired with a playground scene. All of the books focus on the small things that happen in each experience and neglect to explain why or who any of the characters are.
