About the Author:

Jana Novotny Hunter was born in Czechoslovakia and grew up in England. A graduate of Hornsey College of Art, she spent many years in America where she worked as a Textile Designer, Teacher, Writer and Mum.

Jana has written over forty books for children, including Read My Lips, the prize-winning story exploring the communication choices of a Deaf girl. Paula grew up in a house full of animals, and spent much of her time drawing and making comics with her brother. Having discovered she could actually do drawing as a job, she studied illustration at Falmouth College of Arts, graduating in 2005. She now lives and works as a freelance illustrator in Bristol, UK.
