And that opening sentence is from this superb novel, which is SIGNED on the title page. Not only is this RARE it is also deliberately 'shabby' and decidedly uncouth. The rough cut thick cover boards are bashed deliberately, and the titling and text on the front and back boards are aggressively slapped on in thick black ink.
