About the Author
Stella Blackstone is the prolific author of the popular Bear and Cleo series as well as several other Barefoot titles. She lives with her family in Somerset, England.
Clare Beaton has been charming audiences for years with her hand-sewn illustrations. She has published many titles with Barefoot, most recently Clare Beaton s Action Rhymes and Clare Beaton s Nursery Rhymes. Her picture-making workshops for small children make her a popular presenter at schools and literature festivals. Clare divides her time between London and Norfolk, England.

After traveling around the world, the pup returns to his starting point, and Mommy Kangaroo reveals that her little one is called "a joey!" The rhyming, repetitive text makes this book perfect for reading aloud, and provides an opportunity for children to learn the names of various baby creatures (wolf cubs, piglets, moose calves, zebra foals, etc.). Several pages at the end offer a few facts about each animal. Made of felt, antique fabrics, buttons, beads, and sequins, Beaton's illustrations are filled with bright colors and interesting details.
