Carol Ann Duffy is an acclaimed poet and playwright who has also written many picture books. Her book of children's poetry, Meeting Midnight(9780571201204) was shortlisted for the Whitbread Children's Book of the Year, 2000 and her latest collection of poetry, Rapture (9780330433914), was the winner of the 2006 T. S. Eliot Prize. Carol Ann lives in Manchester with her daughter, Ella. This is her first project with Barefoot Books. Nicoletta Ceccoli was born and lives in The Republic of San Marino with her two pet turtle doves. Featured several times at the Bologna Children's Book Festival, she has twice won the prestigious Andersen prize for the best Italian children's book illustrator in 2001 and 2006.
