Synopsis

About the Author

Jorn Riel was born in 1931 in Odense, Denmark. He has traveled extensively and written over forty novels and short stories. His writings on life in the Arctic region, inspired by the sixteen years he spent living in Greenland as a young man, have brought him widespread acclaim. The Inuk Quartet, which has been published in Danish, French, and German, is his debut in the English language.

Helen Cann has painted in studios of all shapes and now stirs up inspiration above a milkshake shop in Brighton, England. She has illustrated many titles for Barefoot Books, including Little Leap Forward. An adventurous traveler, she drew on a visit to the Arctic Circle in preparing the illustrations for this story.
