Synopsis
I thought we knew everything there was to know.' The lives of two men unravel over the course of ninety minutes. Where are they? Who are they? What room is this, and what might be beyond the walls? Gut-wrenchingly funny, achingly sad and featuring jaw-dropping moments of physical comedy, Ballyturk is an ambitious and tender work from Enda Walsh, one of Ireland's leading playwrights. The play premiered at Galway International Arts Festival in 2014 in a production by Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival, starring Cillian Murphy, Mikel Murfi and Stephen Rea, and directed by Walsh himself. It subsequently toured Ireland before opening at the National Theatre, London.

About the Author
Enda Walsh is an Irish playwright, born in Dublin. A former recipient of the George Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright and winner of numerous other awards (including four Edinburgh Fringe First awards), his works include Disco Pigs, Misterman, Chatroom and the book for Once: The Musical. He has also written for film, including the screenplay for the 2008 film Hunger, winner of the Camera d'Or at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.
