A Storm is Coming
I barely heard Tomohiro as he approached from behind me. His breath fell softly upon my neck as he wrapped his arms around me, peering over my shoulder to watch the koi.
I turned in his arms and saw him looking at me with his deep, intense eyes. The fireflies clung to the spikes in his hair, casting light and shadows across his face. He looked like a prince; he looked like a demon. The glow and shadow flickered like candlelight, and I wasn t sure which he belonged to. But I knew I wanted him to belong to me.
American Katie Green has decided to stay in Japan. She's started to build a life in the city of Shizuoka and she can't imagine leaving behind her friends, her aunt, and especially Tomohiro, the guy she's fallen in love with. But her return is not as simple as she thought. She's flunking out of Japanese school and committing cultural faux pas wherever she goes. Tomohiro is also struggling as a Kami, his connection to the ancient gods of Japan and his power to bring drawings to life have begun to spiral out of control...as Katie and Tomohiro face a new darkness on the horizon.
