Prisoners, Property and Prostitutes This book is an autobiography following Tom Ratcliffe's progress from student to experienced policeman, but also a whole lot more. It is a deep and rivetting look at society, the people who comprise it and the people who police it. Full description

Tom Ratcliffe was born in 1960 and grew up in rural England. After a grammar school and university education he joined the police in 1983 and remains a serving officer. He has been married since 1984 and has two teenage children and a variety of other pets! His hobbies include motorcycling and cooking, though not simultaneously.
Excellent stuff... It neatly combines some fascinating revelations about police work with hilarity and poignancy. I raced through it. -- Tom Morton, BBC Radio Scotland If it was written as fiction it would be entertaining - the fact it is true makes it a real page-turner. -- Rob Jerrard Internet Law Book Reviews 20100101
