About the Author

The Alison Uttley Literary Property Trust and the Trustees of the Estate of the Late Margaret Mary Mears (Author) Alison Uttley (1884-1976) said of her characters,"Why do children love them? Because I believe in them."She grew up at Castle Top Farm in Derbyshire, and her passion for the countryside comes across vividly in her timeless Little Grey Rabbit stories. Margaret Tempest (Illustrator) (1892-1982) illustrated these classic tales with such vitality that the characters come to life with warmth and wit. Her partnership with Alison Uttley lasted for forty years.

Review

'reissued with text sensitively abridged for a modern audience' * The Bookseller * 'Its lovely to see these children's classics brought to a new generation with bright, eye-catching covers, which still feature the original illustrations by Margaret Tempest. The characters are beautifully portrayed and everyone will have their favourite. The pace of the stories is gentle and they make perfect bedtime reading. Collect the series (Templar are reissuing the first four) and they will become family favourites. I still have a collection bought when my children were little.' * Parents in Touch * 'This newly published festive book will delight.' * Small Furry Pets * 'This neat little hardback edition of the classic story would itself make a lovely gift. It is full of old-fashioned charm and pictures of the kind of Christmas one would like to believe might once have existed.' -- Jane Sandell * The Scotsman *
