Synopsis

A plane carrying two Chinese government envoys goes down in the Palombian jungle. A crate is parachuted out just before the crash. It contains a baby panda, official gift of China to a neighbouring country. The young survivor is found and taken in by the Marsupilami's family, but they soon face a serious problem: their new charge only eats bamboo – the only local source of which lies inside the nearby native village…

About the Author

AndréFranquin was as important and influential throughout his career as Hergé, moulding and training dozens of artists through his long years at Spirou magazine. Creator of the Marsupilami and of Gomer Goof, he was in charge of Spirou & Fantasio for 20 years. Extraordinary prolific author of the golden age of BD – 250 title – Greg is best known for creating the outrageous Achille Talon and the poetic Olivier Rameau. A Belgian artist and colourist, Batem was chosen by Franquin to illustrate the solo adventures of his favourite animal, the Marsupilami.
