Synopsis
Emily and her mom have decided to go to Battersea Dogs Home to find the perfect present for her granny, whose own dog has recently passed away. Emily immediately knows that Bailey, the shy but loving Dalmatian puppy, would be a great companion—and since Emily lives next door to her granny, she'd have lots of opportunities to play with him too! Bailey is nervous of his new surroundings at first, but slowly he learns to trust his new family. And when a burglar tries to break-in to Gran's house, this plucky little pooch leaps into action!

About the Author
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is a charity that aims never to turn away a dog or cat in need of our help. We reunite lost dogs and cats with their owners; when we can't do this, we care for them until new homes can be found for them; and we educate the public about responsible pet ownership. Every year the Home takes in around 12,000 dogs and cats. In addition to the site in south-west London, the Home also has two other centres based at Old Windsor, Berkshire, and Brands Hatch, Kent.
