Synopsis

This is the thrilling story of how Graham Hutt and his friends were arrested and imprisoned in Morocco. All because one of them possessed a small black bag containing something the police and a judge were to deem ‘illegal in Morocco’ – Bibles. The penalties totalled nearly half a million dollars, plus imprisonment; and all because of this ‘minor indiscretion’.

Read of the author’s long fight to prove his innocence, regain his yacht and the freedom to visit the country he loves: Morocco. This is a fast-paced chronicle of the friends’ adventures, with unique insights into the Arab culture.

About the Author

Graham Hutt worked as an electronics engineer in the Royal Navy; it was then that offshore sailing became his hobby and he gained RYA qualifications. He left the RN and started his own electronics company: this was successful enough to enable him to buy his own yacht to sail with his family around the Mediterranean. He learned Arabic and returned to academic life. Interest in Arabic culture led to many trips to North Africa. Knowledge gained there helped him to re-write a nautical pilot book covering the coastline of North Africa. It was this work that took him sailing many times to Morocco; his interest in writing, navigation and sailing continues from his base in Italy.
