Frances Chambers received an MLS from Rutgers University in 1965 and an MA from Teachers College, Columbia University, in 1985. She has pursued a life-long interest in France and French culture and is the compiler of the <'>France volume in the World Bibliographical Series (first eition, 1980; revised edition, 1990). Her other volumes in the Seies are <'>Haiti (first edition, 1983; revised edition, 1994); <'>Trinidad and Tobago(1986) and <'>Guyana (1989). She is currently an Associate Professor in the City College of New York Library Department.
