About the Author
Edwin A. Abbott (1838-1926), a distinguished headmaster and Shakespeare scholar, wrote several books in the fields of literature and theology. His hobby was the study of higher mathematics and geometry, and this inspired his experimental tale Flatland, first published under the pseudonym.
