Synopsis
This is the first book to focus on the work of Ossie Clark, a key figure in 1960s and 1970s London and one of the most important designers in British fashion. His golden era lasted from 1965 to 1974, when fashion, photography, art, music and the cult of the personality all flourished as never before in the glittering world of 'Swinging London'.
Drawing on interviews with Celia Birtwell, models and friends, and on exclusive audio archives featuring Ossie himself, Judith Watt brings to life the vibrant and artistic milieu in which his talent flourished. About the Author
Judith Watt is a fashion historian who combines teaching at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design with writing and research. She has contributed to a number of books on contemporary fashion, including The Fashion Book and The Penguin Book of Twentieth-Century Fashion Writing for which she acted as overall editor. She writes for many magazines and newspapers including Vogue, Harpers and Queen and The Guardian.
