About the Author:
John Agard, poet, performer and story teller, was born in Guyana. He came to Britain in 1977. He is the author of many successful poetry books for children and in 1982, his first adult collection, Man to Pan, won the Casas de las Americas Prize. Lovelines to a Goat-Born Lady, John Agard's poems to Grace Nichols, is also published by Serpent's Tail.
Review:
?Love of words and love of women combine to sensual and playful effect? Mich?le Roberts ?In this glorying in physical love, the language has the sounds of Carnival. The praisesong is for a special woman and for being the man. And in the offering of a share in the joy from night to night, spring to spring, the voice finds fresh counterpoints and newer and newer choruses...A popular book of love poems in a Caribbean voice has been absent; this could be its arrival? James Berry
