Synopsis
Get Through DCH Clinical is the first revision guide aimed specifically at candidates preparing for the Diploma of Child Health Clinical Examination. Written with the latest syllabus in mind, this book provides candidates with worked examples for each of the stations that they will be faced with during the exam.
The book opens with a general introduction to the DCH Clinical, including advice on how to prepare for it and information on what to expect. This is followed by chapters covering the different types of station: communication skills, history taking and management planning, structured oral (viva), short cases, neuro-developmental cases, and child development cases. Each chapter contains an overview of general skills that are being tested by the station, followed by a series of worked examples, including things the examiner will be looking out for, and 'dos and don'ts' for the highest marks.
Written by two newly qualified GPs who have recently passed the new-style DCH Clinical, as well as a senior GP with a Specialist Interest in Paediatrics, Get Through DCH Clinical is an essential guide for all candidates preparing for this difficult exam.

5 Stars: Excellent book
This is the only book I could find which is up to date and geared just towards the DCH clinical. It goes through the exam station by station with loads of useful tips and examples of common cases and scenarios which come up. The communication skills section is very good preparation and can be practiced with a friend. Overall I would say this book was just what I needed to help revise and pass the exam, would definitely recommend.

4 Stars: Worth having
I read this book cover to cover leading up to my DCH clinical. It is very readable and makes revision easier to get stuck into. It is a good guide on what to expect in the exam, and really is good preparation. I passed the exam and am sure this book had a part to play in that!
