From Publishers Weekly

The Princess never heard the frog's deep love songs from his swamp, but when her ball falls into the water, she offers to be his friend if he'll bring it back. But when he does, she has to keep her end of the bargain, for her father the King knows of her promise. Once the frog is let into her room to sleep, the spoiled princess flings him into the corner. That night the Moon promises him a different princess, in another kingdom. Next day the frog sets out on his journey; along the way he performs kind deeds for other creatures, who help him in turn. Finally he reaches a stone barrier, the End of the World, and falls asleep, discouraged. But in the morning the End of the World turns out to be the high wall of a castle, in which the frog finds the most beautiful princess--another frog. This gentle parody of a Grimm classic is richly illustrated, and plays upon several fairy-tale themes. All ages.
