Synopsis

Anyone practising in the civil courts of England and Wales, whether as a solicitor or a barrister, needs a thorough grasp of the principles of civil procedure and the rules of practice as applied by the courts. This book provides an easily digestible commentary on all the major areas of civil procedure, and does so in sufficient depth to ensure it does not become misleading by omission. It has been designed to over points that are likely to arise in day-to-day practice. This new edition has been thoroughly updated as a result of the introduction of the Civil Procedure Rules, and deals with the new funding arrangements introduced in April 2000 and the new appeals system introduced in May 2000 and the new rules governing applications for judicial review introduced in October 2000.
